Kura Na AgTech 2.0 Opens Applications for AgriTech Startups in Rwanda.

KIGALI, Rwanda – Applications are now open for the second edition of Kura Na AgTech, a grant program designed to support scalable, innovative agriTech startups that are transforming Rwanda’s agricultural sector.

The program is calling on startups already operating in the market, generating revenue, and using technology to address real challenges faced by smallholder farmers across the country. The application deadline is May 31, 2026.

What the Program Offers

Kura Na AgTech 2.0 provides selected startups with a comprehensive support package including:

  • Catalytic grants
  • Tailored technical assistance
  • Coaching and mentorship
  • Investment readiness support
  • Facilitated market linkages

The program aims to accelerate up to four high-potential agriTech solutions that address key challenges for smallholder farmers in Rwanda, including:

  • Productivity and market access
  • Financial inclusion
  • Post-harvest losses
  • Climate resilience
  • Regenerative practices

Selection Criteria

Applications are assessed based on how well each venture combines innovationtraction, and a clear path to growth.

Strong applications demonstrate:

  • A clear understanding of how the solution benefits smallholder farmers
  • Specific focus on reaching womenyouth, and persons with disabilities
  • Existing market operations and revenue generation
  • Technology-driven solutions to real agricultural challenges

Program Structure

Implemented by Swisscontact in partnership with Impact Hub Kigali, the program follows a two-stage selection process:

  1. Up to 10 startups selected for Pitch Interviews
  2. 4 startups selected for the Acceleration Phase

The Acceleration Phase runs from April to October 2026, providing intensive support to help startups scale their impact.
