About the Impala Program
The Impala Program is a 12-month journey designed to support 15 high-potential women-led SMEs in the sectors of Tourism, Hospitality, or agriculture. It is implemented by Business Professionals Network (BPN) Rwanda in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation under the Grow 2 Scale consortium.
The program is designed for women entrepreneurs who have a clear vision but whose growth path has become clouded by the demands of maintaining business stability and navigating personal responsibilities. Through hands-on training, personalized coaching, technical support, and access to influential networks, participants gain the tools, confidence, and clarity needed to scale their businesses and lead with purpose.
What the Program Offers
Participants in the Impala Program benefit from:
- Practical skills development tailored to business growth

All program activities are conducted mainly in English and structured to maximize business impact and long-term sustainability.
Who Should Apply
To be eligible for the Impala Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Women entrepreneur with a registered business
- In business for 1 to 2 years
- Operating in Tourism, Hospitality, or Agriculture sectors
- Employing at least 2 staff members
- Monthly revenue of at least 5 Million Rwf
Preference is given to high-potential “Bootstrapper” SMEs with proven ambition for growth. The program particularly encourages applications from women, refugees, and persons with disabilities, as inclusion is a core pillar of the Grow 2 Scale initiative.
Impact and Track Record
The Impala Program is part of BPN’s broader contribution to the Grow 2 Scale initiative, which aims to create 44,600 dignified and fulfilling jobs for youth, with a focus on 70% women and 5% persons with disabilities and refugees.
BPN has demonstrated impressive results: more than 80% of supported businesses remain sustainable and grow steadily, and about 30% grow into market leaders in their sectors. Previous cohorts have seen participating businesses triple their employment, with total jobs rising from 293 to over 900 after program completion. Market reach also expanded from 750 to 1,233 markets served—a 64% increase.
